Our Little Town of Star!
Star is gorgeous and peaceful. It's a wonderful place to live where you can be close to the city, but not close to the chaos it brings. If you're looking for a beautiful and rural town, it's a good place to be! It was founded in the 19th century by travelers on their way to Middleton and Boise, who used the star in the schoolhouse to locate the east and the west. The name was stuck and it became the Star, Idaho. It is now a growing town west of Boise, and its schools are shared with the Middleton School District and the West Ada School District.
Every small town needs a Mercantile! The Star Merc has just about everything you would need from grocery to paint and everything in between. We love this little establishment and everything it does for our community! If you are ever visiting, come stop by.
You'll find a lot of open space, a charming downtown area and amenities just a short drive away. Star, Idaho is located just West of Eagle and North of Meridian about 10 minutes and is easily accessed by HWY 16 (North & South) and HWY 44 (East & West). With foothills banking the North, the Boise River running through the South, and rural farmland to the West, Star is the perfect location for those who want to feel out of the congestion of daily hustle and bustle.
